I love food and I love being happy and healthy. I don't believe in restricting calories or even counting calories at all. I believe in eating balanced and in moderation. I trust my intuition to dictate what is balanced and moderate. I would rather eat a salad for lunch and throw in real butter in my dinner than eat pasta for lunch and use flax seed oil in my dinner. Not saying I always eat a salad for lunch....
How we eat
I have an excel spreadsheet where I plan our weekly meal menu. I sit down on Sunday and pester Andrew until we have an inexpensive and EXCITING week ahead of us. You can google "weekly meal plan spreadsheet" and find already made spreadsheets. I cook about four meals a week and we have three days of leftovers. I'm just trying to figure out how much to make for two people + leftovers. It's hard!!!
My favorite meals are ones that I can prepare earlier in the day and finish quickly once Andrew comes home from work. We are both students, so we're on a student budget. My goal is to stay under $200 for groceries each month. We'll see how it goes!
